Dr. Tara Timpson, Veterinarian

Dr. Tara Timpson has always felt a connection with animals; this connection is what motivated her to seek a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Tara grew up in Utah Valley and completed her undergraduate studies at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She then attended veterinary school at Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Corvallis, Oregon, and completed her DVM degree with an emphasis in mixed animal practice.

Before coming to Best Friends, she spent four years practicing in Central Point, Oregon, in a large mixed animal clinic, where she focused primarily on large animal medicine and surgery. Best Friends is pleased to have her on-board to provide the best care possible for our horses and other large animals.

Dr. Tara's immediate family consists of her husband, Josh, and two horses, Cass and Spec. Her best friend of 17 years, her dog Wilby, passed away recently from complications secondary to chronic renal failure. Dr. Tara misses her tremendously. In her spare time, Dr. Tara enjoys playing with her horses, hiking and backpacking, and playing bluegrass music.
