John Christopher Fripp, Treasurer
John Christopher Fripp, one of the founders of Best Friends, fulfills the role of financial officer and treasurer. John supervises payroll for the sanctuary staff and the records of all funds that come into the sanctuary, and makes investments and other provisions to safeguard the organization's assets. He handles tax returns and audits, which are performed annually, to ensure the proper treatment of all funds and to provide supporters with verified statements of Best Friends' finances.
John was educated at Oxford University in England and is qualified as a chartered accountant. He spent a number of years as an accountant and auditor, and that experience, he says, came in handy years later when he and a group of friends decided to found Best Friends. "We needed somebody here to do that kind of work, and I stepped in," he says.
John and his wife, Celeste, live with six dogs.
